Lazy Sunday morning - cartoons, cereal, what more can a boy want?
Another link off the chain!

Mister Independent! We allow it when it's safe!
Brian and Genya in front of a train we found (not certain of why it's there tho, looks like something open in summer?) For some reason Genya is saluting you'll notice!
More about the train
Dirty cars (and dirty everything actually) are the norm here right now!
I would think this is a handicap ramp - quite the incline!
Irkutsk is not a young city - celebrating 350 years in 2011!
Climbing the pole at the Spring Celebration
Closer look - it does not look fun but either a good prize or too much vodka!
The name of the celebration... to send off winter and welcome spring (we ate the pancakes on Wednesday in celebration of this event)

Maslenitsa!
What a fun time to be "stuck" in Russia. ;>
lol--"Mahs-len-eat-suh"
I SO wish we had been there for the maslenitsa celebration. Irina, not knowing if we'd be here or there, had bought tickets for us to go to the village to celebrate with her family. I guess that's one thing (and there aren't many) we will have to do on future visits
And Nathan sure does look comfy! Is J.J. doing links at home too? Would be cute to have pictures of both brothers counting downt he days!
Seems like was in Russia once in March - and I remember the play at the orphanage where it was all about welcoming Spring. There was a Mother Nature character (one of the caregivers), and a wolf - and the children all got candy at the end.
I am so glad things are going so well for NAthan. He seems to be adjusting very well!
