We had our interview at the Embassy this afternoon and Mark Siebel did the interview. That's not really his department anymore but he came down to meet us, etc. Very nice man!
Philip then took the passport with visa and is going to try and register us with the Russian Consulate tomorrow. I thought we were doing that tomorrow but apparently not...? Anyway, he said he will "explain our circumstances and maybe can get it done" - otherwise we'll do back in America...
Tomorrow Philip's wife, Anna, is going to do a walking tour with us. Saturday we're planning on going to the zoo and Sunday at 10am we'll be picked up to head to the airport...
This is another short update as Genya's playing balloon with a 3-yo girl, Emma, (another Bethany family here in from St. Petersburg) so the mom and I are supervising and visiting...
I do continue to blog on the laptop so there will be bigger reports coming!
If you'd like to call us remember we're "8" hours ahead - my mom posted the correct phone number in a comment so you don't get reservations like she did! LOL

So does this mean no more possible "hoops" or "loopholes?" Can we all really start 'breathing' again - and smiling with HUGE sighs of relief?!? O give thanks to the Lord...he IS good!
Love n hugs AND kisses from mom/grandma/babushka! LOL
The end of this chapter of your saga is indeed in sight!!!! You'll probably still kinda hold your breath until the plane actually takes off (I know I would be!), but it looks like it's really happening! We are just so excited and full of joy for you guys. What a long, long journey this has been. Vince and I read your last several Irkutsk entries with much understanding and nostalgia, thinking back to our 5 long weeks there with Anicka. We were sure we were just going to LOSE IT any day, and to think you were there twice as long!!! I imagine you will enjoy this WI spring more than any other...
Can't wait to hear the full story about your Moscow stay.
Much love,
the Groffs :-)
Good news travels fast. I had several people ask me in church yesterday if I heard that the Ninmanns were coming home on Sunday. Indeed you have been missed! Glad to hear that you have more people surrounding you right now that you can more easily comminicate with.
It will be so interesing to see how Nathan adjusts to life with a loving family in a lovely one family home - something he has no experience with (except for the lenghthy stay with just the two of you). Even after the thank you God prayers, the please bring them home soon and safetly prayers, we will continue to pray that the adjustment goes well.
Looking forward to seeing you and bidding you "WELCOME HOME".
Carleen
Glad to hear it worked out well, and you're a step closer to home. Enjoy your few last days in Russia! I'm so glad you're doing the zoo. I know there are many zoos in the USA, but you'll have few opportunies to do the "Moscow Zoo". WE LOVED IT - especially the bldg with the monkeys!

YAY - you're coming home! WOO HOO!!! I am so happy for you I'm crying! I can't imagine the relief you must be feeling...
So, does Nathan have a red passport or a blue one? (I don't quite understand that)
THANK GOD! You are coming home!!! You will weep with relief when you enter your home so have kleenex handy. :) We pray for a safe and swift journey home so you can start your new family life. Can't wait to hear about the first few days at home with both boys.
I bet you feel 10 tons lighter! ENJOY the time you have in Moscow.
I'm so glad that end is in sight for you guys! I know JJ must just be beside himself, but from what you've posted about him, it seems like he's done well also.
There were days that I thought our 5 weeks in Russia would never end, and yet you've been there so much longer. I know you've had your moments, but you've done a great job staying same while so far from home.
Wish you guys had an ATL layover! LOL
